Summer is approaching rather slowly but it’s coming. The day was in full force today and it was extremely hot for early May. Today we spent the day exploring the port city of Kobe. Kobe is the capital of Hyogo prefecture and it’s about an hour away from Himeji city. Located between the sea and the Rokko Mountain range Kobe is considered one of Japan’s most attractive cities and it’s easy to see why.
Aside from it’s picturesque scenery, Kobe is also famous for it’s mini European town of Kitano-cho and of course Kobe beef. Kitano-cho is a city district at the foot of the Rokko mountains and in the 19th century was a hotspot for foreign trade. There are a variety of cafes and shops to visit along with some of the historic old houses that have now been turned into mini museums.

With the bright sun coming out I decided to keep it simple, especially since I was feeling a little exhausted today. Unfortunately a lot of hostels kick you out during the day so you can’t sleep in too late. This is a pretty safe choice for me nothing too different from what I usually wear, although the mom jeans were an interesting touch, I’m always more of a skinny jeans type of person.
