It always feels so good to get back into writing on my blog. Work and school keep me from really contributing to this space here. However, I’m determined to get back on track with monthly updates soon. I’ve been getting a lot of recognition for writing but something that’s been falling by the wayside is my passion for fashion. I’m not the best fashionista out there but I do enjoy clothing, how they make me feel, and what they could potentially be saying. Working a full-time job doesn’t leave much room for me to experiment with my style. Business professional really isn’t my go-to look. I yearn for the day that I don’t have to wear a suit in order to be taken seriously. The only relief I have is when I can create some cute blazer outfits to wear to work.
My style has changed significantly since coming to Tokyo, cause while I love jeans they’re no longer my go-to choice when dressing up. I used to think name brands were the height of style. Yet I get compliments on my thrifted street-styles almost daily (still yet to be street snapped though). Recently I’ve been spending a lot of time on TikTok (I know don’t judge), and while I hate putting my face online I love doing some of the outfit challenges, and a recent one I tried sparked a fun idea for a blog post. And what better way to statement piece is thee to start with than the standard blazer. As you can tell from my previous post, I was really adamant about making this blazer work, but before I wasn’t thinking about the shape it had and how that can add or even take away details from my outfit.
The easiest outfit anyone can pull of—a blazer with jeans and a t-shirt. Adding a fun graphic tee adds a little more fun and makes it more street than just casual.
I don’t think the baby goth in me will ever be able to let leather go. The leather shorts make the outfit more playful and a great transition into spring.
My favorite and only white dress. Pairing it with the blazer allows me to cover up just a little bit and tone down the sex appeal a tad. Another great spring/brunch outfit.
Work has certainly sucked the life out of my style but I’m glad I’ve been able to find a new way to have fun with clothing again. How about you, do you have any fresh blazer outfits you’d like to share? Feel free to leave a comment below!
